There are many reasons that the tire pressure light illuminates. The most common is low air pressure. If you take your car to a local gas station, they will be able to change it for you in less than five minutes!
Another common reason is that the sealant has worn off of your tires and needs to be replaced with a new sealant or inflating fluid. One other possible cause is that there might be an obstruction in the tire, such as a nail or screw. If you find that there is an obstruction of this nature, take your vehicle to a mechanic immediately.
Despite being similar-looking, tires are designed to have different air pressures for different purposes. For example, the tires on racing cars are pressurized with nitrogen gas to very high levels so they will explode less extensively when hit by debris on the race track. Racing tires are not used on public roads.
