As a Texas Cadillac Dealer, we’ve had the pleasure of serving drivers from our hometown of Brownsville to the nearby communities for McAllen, Harlingen, and even Edinburg over the years. And while we’ll admit we’re a bit biased, we firmly believe that Cadillac produces some of the best new luxury cars and SUVs for drivers here in the Lone Star State. That’s especially true when it comes to nameplates like the new Cadillac Escalade. This executive luxury full-size SUV has been a stunner its segment for quite some time, and if you ever doubted its prowess, we’re here to put those concerns to rest with our competitive comparison against the new BMW X7.
Performance
When it comes to full-size luxury SUVs like the new Cadillac Escalade and BMW X7, the best place to start your comparison is with the power each offers under the hood. To that end, the new Cadillac Escalade is no slouch. With up to 420 horsepower available from its standard 6.2-liter V8 engine, and up to 682 horsepower available when you upgrade to the new Cadillac Escalade V-Series, the new Cadillac Escalade has no trouble getting up the highway speed, making it perfect for families from San Benito who spend a good deal of time on the road.
Now, the new BMW X7 is plenty powerful in its own right, but it just can’t measure up to the exceptional standard set by the new Cadillac Escalade. With just 523 horsepower total and less standard horsepower, the new BMW X7 is considerably less engaging to drive than the Cadillac Escalade.
Capability
Since the new BMW X7 offers less power than the Cadillac Escalade, it also struggles on the towing front. Even in its most powerful format, the new BMW X7 can only tow up to 7,500 pounds. By comparison, a properly equipped new Cadillac Escalade can tow up to 8,200 pounds, so it’s perfect for growing families who want to tow along their boats or travel trailers on family vacations.
Versatility
The new BMW X7 may advertise itself as a family-friendly three-row SUV, but if you look behind its rear seats, you’ll find that it can be quite cramped inside. With its European luxury design sensibilities comes some decidedly sparse quarters, resulting in much less head and legroom for rear seat passengers. Besides that, the new BMW X7 only offers up to 12.8 cubic-feet of luggage space behind its third row, making it quite difficult to squeeze in all your luggage and day-to-day items.
Fortunately, when it comes to interior space, the new Cadillac Escalade has room to spare. Not only does it offer a generous amount of headroom and legroom for passengers in the front and rear seating positions, but this full-size SUV also boasts a cavernous 25.5 cubic-feet of luggage space behind its rear seats, almost doubling the capacity of the new BMW X7.
Innovation
One of our favorite new amenities on the new Cadillac Escalade is its intuitive Cadillac Super Cruise suite. With this exceptional suite of hands-free driving technologies, you can cruise in total comfort and focus more on the journey than the strain of driving long-distances along thousands of miles of compatible highways here in Texas and across the country. By comparison, the new BMW X7 doesn’t have a hands-free driving technology suite on its equipment list.
